He/Him

I am gay and I am an environmental educator and network weaver.//

I am the Affiliate Network Coordinator with the North America Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), in this role I work with our network of 52 state, provincial, and regional EE associations to advance environmental literacy and create a more just, equitable, and sustainable future. Prior to joining the NAAEE team, I spent several years as a classroom teacher at various grade levels. As an openly gay leader at both the national and state levels, I am often one of a few queer voices in a sea of heteronormativity, though I am buoyed by working for an organization that is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming.

Over the last few years, I have worked to amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC environmental leaders and educators and to ensure our field and organizations that are a part of our network cultivate welcoming and inclusive spaces that seek to foster a sense of community and belonging.

In my free time I often can be found backstage designing costumes for local community theatre productions, and occasionally make my way onstage from time to time and have recently taken to growing a small herb/tea garden. My husband and I live in Charlottesville VA with our two dogs and a cat.
