I am gay and I am a PhD student in marine and environmental sciences.//
I got my start in STEM as an Environmental Science major at Villanova University (go cats!) and graduated in 2016. I studied marsh ecosystems and their biogeochemical processes, mainly in the Plum Island Ecosystem and the Delaware River. I have just transitioned into a new lab at Northeastern University to investigate microbial community structure and function, specifically looking at denitrifiers and their response to stress in the short and long term and how that impacts denitrification and N2O emissions.
