I am gay and I am a behavioral scientist and social psychologist.//
My research focuses on emotion science, wellbeing, social connectedness, and political engagement. I like to design behavioral interventions to answer questions about how people interact with the social world and how people can lead happier, healthier, and more meaningful lives. I earned my PhD in social psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Throughout my career as a undergraduate and graduate student, I never had any openly LGBTQ scientists as role models, so this visibility campaign is very meaningful to me. By being more visible, I hope I can help other LGBTQ scientists feel a greater sense of belonging and inclusion in the sciences.
