I am bi and I am a microbial ecologist/biogeochemist. //
I’m a postdoctoral scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory researching microbial communities in coastal environments. I received my B.S. at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, my M.S. at the University of Massachusetts Boston, and recently earned my Ph.D. at Northeastern University studying salt marsh microbial community structure and function in response to nutrient enrichment. I am passionate about advocating for diverse, inclusive spaces in STEM. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, coaching softball, and baking. You can follow me on Twitter (@MarshMicrobe), where I share science and openly discuss issues surrounding anxiety and mental health in academia!
