Angel Kaur

She/Her

I am queer and I am a molecular neurobiologist. //

I’m originally from New Delhi, India, and came to the U.S. to attend Bryn Mawr College. I majored in Biology at Haverford College and got my PhD in Cell and Molecular Neuroscience at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. I landed in Asheville teaching undergrads and absolutely found my calling here. I am the first Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at UNC Asheville, and am currently directing our Neuroscience program. My research interests have bounced around from T-cell development, pheromone signaling in mice, to pathophysiology of ALS. I am passionate about undergraduate teaching and research mentorship. Additionally, I am a film studies enthusiast who teaches liberal arts core courses on Neuro Science Fiction films. I am also a mom to 3-year-old twins!
