I am queer and I am an environmental toxicologist. //
I am fast approaching year 5 of my PhD (and soon looking for postdocs!) studying how contaminants in the environment affect the nervous system and behavior! I am also wildly passionate about foreign language and pretty sure I would’ve studied French if I hadn’t found myself in science. I grew up in a really rural and conservative small town with nearly no LGBTQ representation, and although it was awful at the time, the experience has instilled in me a passion for thinking about intersectional identity and how we can create inclusive living, learning, and working spaces in academia.
