She/Her, They/Them
I am queer and I am a primatologist. //
I’m a queer PhD candidate in anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I’m interested in the role of behavioral variation and flexibility in human evolution, and I address this by studying the diet and behavior of howler monkeys in the highly seasonal forests of southeastern Brazil. I’m also interested in physiological markers of energetic status, such as C-peptide, and how they can contribute to our understanding of how primates respond to ecological pressures such as seasonal variation in temperature and rainfall. I’m incredibly passionate about what I do, and am constantly looking for opportunities to share my enthusiasm for primates and anthropology with as many people as possible.
