She/Her
I am queer and I am a pinniped ecologist and physiologist.//
Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve naturally developed a deep appreciation and connection to the marine environment. As a pinniped ecologist and physiologist, I aim to better understand how pinnipeds live in and adapt to their ever-changing environments. In addition, I have a passion for conducting my research under a transdisciplinary One Health scope to determine how humans and the marine environment can live cohesively. And as a queer woman in science, I harness the opportunity to teach other LGBTQIA+ youth how to get into the field of marine biology, what career options exist, and to stand as representation for our minority group. Currently, I am the Stranding Coordinator for the San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network in Friday Harbor, WA.
