I am queer and I am an aquatic ecologist.//
I am an aquatic ecologist. My background lies in primary research on aquatic plant communities but my passion is in programming, policy and education. I believe inter- and cross-disciplinary work creates critical opportunities for creativity and insight that can drive our ability to meet today’s increasingly complex environmental challenges.
I lead Water@UW-Madison, an inter- and cross-disciplinary community of practice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Water@UW-Madison fosters connection and communication within Wisconsin’s water research community. We provide immersive research experiences for undergraduates through the Freshwater@UW Summer Research Opportunities Program, support and fund community-based water research projects, and work to connect faculty, graduate students, and community partners across disciplines.
