They/Them
I am non-binary and I am a volcanologist.//
I grew up queer in Australia, and completed my BSc in the kingdom of Hawai’i. Whilst studying my masters in physical volcanology and indigenous knowledge systems, I found my Gender identity:
Earth systems, waterways, and all sorts of scientific phenomenon occur outside of binary functions, where observed activity is often located somewhere on a spectrum between endmembers. Additionally, ancient cultures have championed gender diverse folks for millennia. Our erasure from places of power, particularly in STEM, is a modern political issue, forced by western systems.
We are here, we have been here, and we will be here in the future
