I am queer and I am a neuroscientist.//
My PhD thesis will be a story about the vertebrate retina’s capacity for light adaptation, what neuromodulators and molecular messengers are involved, and how adaptation shapes retinal horizontal cell electrophysiological responses and the visual receptive field.
Outside of my thesis work, I invest time in shaping and supporting racial equity and diversity programs at Dalhousie University, lecturing, and practicing science communication.
I am passionate about teaching and making supportive connections with students and hope to turn this into an academic career. I am proud to be queer and would love to learn as much as possible from my queer academic elders.
