I am a transwoman and I am an astrophysicist.//
I was a repressed queer youth who was raised in a heavily religious environment that actively spoke out against queer people and topics. Naturally, the study of science was also not a priority in such an environment, but my fascination for science, and space specifically, pushed me to pursue it regardless. For most of my life I had followed what others expected, though as soon as I moved out at the age of 20, I had started life anew. Years of questioning and discovery later and I am a third year undergrad astrophysics student and proud of my identity.
