I am a lesbian and I am an assistant professor.//
I grew up in a small city in Spain (Salamanca) where I studied and graduated with a BSc in Biotechnology. After that, my journey began. First, London for my masters, then Oxford for a Ph.D., later landing in NYC for a postdoc, and now in Canada opening a lab in Functional Genomics! Such a privilege to have been part of and a voice for the LGBTQ+ community in different countries.
My scientific interests lay in genome engineering, the response to DNA damage, and tumour suppression. Beyond the lab, you can find me trying out restaurants, watching F1 or at basketball games, travelling, dancing and singing the night away, or binging lesbian TV shows. If lucky, I may be ziplining in the cloud forest or visiting a Wonder of the World!
