queer and I am a cognitive neuroscientist who is passionate about sleep.//
Born and raised in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, I didn’t have a role model in science, and that motivated me to pursue a scientific career abroad, ultimately leading me to the a PhD in Cognitive Sciences at UC Irvine, USA. I am now a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford, where I study how the brain and body interact to support memory, emotion, and healthy ageing. Using intracranial EEG, MEG, fMRI, and wearable technologies, I investigate how neural and physiological rhythms align during sleep to consolidate memory and regulate mood. My goal is to translate these insights into interventions that improve cognitive health, especially for underserved communities.
As a queer, foreign-born woman of colour, I am deeply committed to mentoring students from underrepresented backgrounds and fostering inclusive research environments.
Outside the lab, I lift heavy things. Powerlifting keeps me grounded, strong, and reminds me that scientists don’t have to fit one mold.
I believe science thrives when people can show up fully as themselves. Sleep matters. Visibility matters. Belonging matters. I strive to bring all three into my work, in and beyond the lab.
