I am gay and I am an ecologist.//

I am a Brazilian PhD student (almost finishing) in Plant Ecology. I work with dry forests and my passion is to understand the interactions between social and ecological factors driving ecosystem functioning (how forest works) and ecosystem services (the benefits people obtain from forests). I believe in a collaborative, interdisciplinar and democratic science, where everyone has a voice and is comfortable to share different perspectives.
Academia was always my “safe place”. A space where people respected me for who I am and where I could be myself (most of time). Because of that, I am completely open to collaborate and support other people that could be struggling with homotransphobia or any kind of prejudice from society.
