Mairead O’ Conor

She/Her

I am a gay woman and I am a PhD researcher and lecturer.//

I started off with a general Honours Bachelor of Business degree. From there, I knew i wanted to become more specialised in the area of business information systems. I undertook a research masters at University College Cork, Ireland. I studied the adoption of technologies in Irish dairy farms. Im currently a PhD student with Lero – The Irish Software Research Centre which is based at National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). My research looks at the complexity of time in the context of software development teams. Specifically, I have looked at contemporary time management within agile and flow-based teams. When I’m not working on my PhD I am lecturing in the business information systems department at NUIG. This involves teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I am also a smart futures ambassador for Science Foundation Ireland. For this role, I visit events and schools around Ireland promoting Women in Tech.
