She/Her
I am a lesbian and I am a mechanical engineering PhD student.//
I have always wanted to be a scientist and I have always wanted to help people. My STEM journey was not linear because I faced a lot of micro-aggressions that often times deterred me from a STEM career. Ultimately, I met the right people and received a village of support halfway through my undergraduate career that encouraged me to pursue engineering. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering in 2016, and received a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering in 2019. I am currently an engineering PhD student in the Biomechanics, Rehabilitation, and Interdisciplinary Neuroscience (BRaIN) Laboratory at the University of Central Florida. I am passionate about science education, mentoring, and neuromechanics.
