I am queer / non-binary / neurodivergent and I am a wildlife biologist.//

I am a wildlife biologist and current PhD candidate studying cougar, wolves, and deer in Washington State. My research focuses on studying carnivore communities and predator-prey ecology in areas in relation to anthropogenic landscape changes. I enjoy working with animal tracking data from GPS collars, trail cameras, and scat (go poop!). I employ a variety of statistical techniques to analyze research data and enjoy analysis in addition to fieldwork.

Throughout grad school I have found very few venues to discuss my queer identity with colleagues and coworkers in my field, so I’m excited about opportunities to increase visibility and find queer community in the wildlife field. I enjoy supporting young scientists through collaboration and mentorship, and I am thrilled to see the next generation of scientists enter the field and bring their differing perspectives along with them.

In my “free time” I enjoy hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing and really anything else that gets me outdoors and into the woods year-round.
