She/Her
I am queer, a chemist, and a coordinator for a federal science network.//
I began my career in the federal public service as a Laboratory Chemist: first as a forensic drug analyst, then in pharmaceutical drugs and natural health products, and later as a food research chemist. Though I’ve stepped away from the bench, I now serve as the coordinator for a federal national science network, where I work to break down silos between federal scientists, foster collaboration, and provide the support they need to elevate science across government.
When I started in the public service, it didn’t feel safe to be out. Today, I’m proudly visible and lead work to make government science and spaces more inclusive: advocating for 2SLGBTQI+ and neurodiverse inclusion, SGBA Plus (Sex- and Gender-Based Analysis Plus) initiatives, and meaningful allyship across science and policy spaces.
In recognition of this work, I was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for leadership in fostering inclusion within and beyond the Government of Canada.
I believe that visibility and representation matters; and that science, and the people behind it, thrive when we create space for everyone to show up fully as themselves.
