I am a lesbian and I am an avian biologist.//
I am an Assistant Professor at Loyola Marymount University. My research lab is the PHAB Lab (Physiology, Hormones, and Avian Biology). Along with my undergraduate collaborators, I study several aspects of avian biology with a focus on the intersection between physiology, endocrinology, and behavior. I take a teacher-scholar model to my undergraduate teaching and am working towards a more inclusive pedagogical approach to my courses. And I am a parent! I also try to use my experiences as a queer mama navigating the heteronormative world of parenting to help others in the community looking to do the same.
