Kiera Pond Grehan
She/They
I am bisexual and gender queer, and I am a physicist. //
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto studying ultra cold atoms! I completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Winnipeg where I did research in computational theoretical chemistry (modelling how proteins involved in Hep-A interact with different medications), and in nuclear physics (designing and modelling a thermosyphon and testing cesium cells for magnetometers to search for a neutron electric dipole moment).
I try create a safe space where ever I am since in physics the majority of people are still cis, straight (white) men. Throughout my entire physics career I have been one of very few out queer people in the room. I love to get involved with science outreach to try and show people and students that with hard work everyone can be a physicist!
