He/They
I am queer and I am a research programmer.//
I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and moved to Querétaro, Mexico to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology Engineering and Molecular Biology. I then moved to Vancouver, Canada where I earned a Master’s in Bioinformatics by developing software to analyze and visualize gene expression data in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Since then, I’ve worked in multiple labs developing software and standardizing data to facilitate biomedical research in psychiatry and oncology. I realized I’m queer during grad school and it has been a beautiful and ongoing journey of self-discovery.
I am also deeply passionate about music and host a radio show exploring the intersection of Caribbean, Latin, and electronic music.
