He/Him
I am gay and I am a planetary science PhD student.//
I’m a graduate student at Purdue University studying surface processes throughout our solar system in the hopes of finding evidence of past or present life on other worlds. Right now I’m just starting my research on studying redox gradients with the Curiosity rover, whose engineering model is pictured next to me, to characterize the paleo-lake environment that once existed in Gale Crater on Mars. Growing up I didn’t have many queer adults to look up to and I couldn’t name a single queer person in a STEM field. I hope to help remove the stigma of being out in STEM and the idea that being out is not relevant, because I know how much it means to find out that there are people like you and that you are not alone.
