I am gay and I am a chemistry PhD student. //

I’m a PhD candidate in organic chemistry studying the application of organic photoredox catalysis to the synthesis of the natural product Rubriflordilactone B, which has exhibited anti-HIV activity. I’m fortunate to be in an academic environment where I can be open about my identity, but I know not everyone is in such a situation. My hope is that 500 Queer Scientists can help everyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ in the STEM field realize they are not alone.
