Giampiero Mancinelli
He/Him
I am gay and I am a physicist. //
I’m a CNRS Director of Research in High Energy Physics at the CPPM (Centre de Physique de Particules de Marseille, France), currently working on the LHCb experiment at CERN. I am Italian and graduated from University of Perugia (Master’s degree from UC Irvine, CA, USA). I have previously worked on SLD and BaBar at Stanford, CA, with MIT, Rutgers University, and the University of Cincinnati. Besides physics, I founded a LGBT-friendly sport association in Marseille 5 years ago, of which I am currently the president. I (still!) practice track and field, soccer, volleyball, tennis table, basketball, and, of course, la petanque! More info on this part of my life in the website below!
