Frankie Stubbins
He/Him
I am trans and I am an entomologist.//
I grew up on a farm in England and have degrees from the University of Cambridge and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I moved to South Carolina in 2013 to pursue a PhD at Clemson University in Entomology. After graduation, I moved to St. Louis where I work to develop soybean, corn and cotton protection products for growers across the world.
Being able to bring my own true, authentic self to work, in a safe and supportive environment has allowed me to thrive in my own work and I have a passion to ensure that future generations have the same experience that I have had. I strongly believe that being able to represent our own diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives is crucial to advancing science through innovation and creativity.
Outside of research you will find me training on my bike, playing LEGO and enjoying time with my queer (big!) family of my partner, six cats and two dogs.
