I am trans and I am a mathematics teacher in basic education at public schools in Brazil.//
I have been a mathematics teacher in the Brazilian public school system for 16 years. I earned a Master’s degree in Teaching with an interdisciplinary perspective from the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid Region (UFERSA). Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Mathematics Education at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where I conduct research that integrates mathematics teaching with the lived experiences of trans individuals who teach mathematics. Beyond these areas, I am interested in mathematics didactics and pedagogical practices that address issues of gender and sexuality, especially those focusing on trans individuals. I am also a militant and activist for the human rights of trans people.
