Emre Ilhan

He/Him

I am gay and I am a clinician and researcher.//

My research draws upon critical theory and the humanities (e.g., intersectionality) to identify and address ways in which marginalisation and privilege (re)produces health inequities and injustice through intersecting systems of oppression. I actively engage in these approaches to inform research and teaching in pain sciences in vulnerable (neonatal, infant, and paediatric pain) and marginalised (LGBTQIASB+, older adults in residential aged care, disability, culturally and racially marginalised groups, and other marginalised groups) populations. My research interests also include queer(y)ing physiotherapy, research, health care, education, and pain science, evidence-based health care and shared decision-making, and paediatric (cerebral palsy) and adult neurological rehabilitation.
