They/Them
I am queer and I am a developmental biologist.//
I did my PhD in regenerative biology at the Institute of Regenerative biology and biotherapies in Montpellier, France. I studied the role of macrophages during regeneration in zebrafish. I wanted to switch to basic biology to study regeneration because most phyla in the animal kingdom contain regenerative species. In contrast, we humans and mammals are not very good at it. Currently, I am studying regeneration in a bit of crustacean, Parhyale hawaiensis.
As a queer biologist, I know the discrimination that can occur in academia. As an eLife Ambassador, I want to increase awareness of the discrimination minorities could face and create a network in Europe and France to connect and empower queer scientists.
