She/Her
I am a lesbian and I am an evolutionary biologist.//
I worked as an elementary school teacher for four years before my passion for biology brought me back to university. I received my BSc, MSc, and PhD in biology / ecology and evolution from the University of Bern, Switzerland. Currently I am in the US for a Postdoc at Harvard. I use a wide range of methods and tools (from fieldwork to experiments and genomics) to study evolution, adaptation, and speciation – first in fishes and now in flowers!
In my free time I love playing music (piano, bassoon, guitar) and I am an avid runner.
I have been lucky to have a very supportive family (most family members knew I was gay before I came out to them) and friends, which made me unafraid to come out at work too.
