I am queer and bi and I am a marine bioloist.//
I am a masters student at San Francisco State University and a researcher at the Marine Mammal Center. I study humpback whales in the Gulf of the Farallones, focusing on scar patterns caused by human interactions. These scars are mostly caused by entanglement or vessel strikes. I also do science communication through my website and instagram, with a focus on northern California marine wildlife.
It has been crucial for me to have queer role models in my field. I hope someday to be able to help other queer folks follow their science dreams!
