They/Them
I am queer and I am an aquatic biogeochemist and geographer.//
I am a PhD student at Michigan State University in the Earth & Environmental Science and Ecology, Evolution, & Behavior programs studying drivers of carbon cycling and greenhouse gas fluxes in inland waters. Prior to starting my PhD, I completed a MS degree in Environmental Science and Policy and a BA degree in Environmental Science – Earth System Science, where my theses focused on how changing hydrologic conditions impact organic matter transport in inland waters.
In addition to my academic work, I am passionate about improving accessibility and visibility in science for queer and disabled individuals. I believe that supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in science is beneficial to everyone, and makes science better as a whole!
