I am queer/pansexual and I am a Ph.D student in inclusive education.//
I am queer/pansexual and I am a Ph.D. student and Research Associate in the Diversity in Education and Development research group at the University of Potsdam. My research interests center around school/family cultural socialization, migration, ethnic identity development, intergroup relations, and social inequalities in society. These research interests began when I was an undergraduate at the Bahcesehir University working on research examining the attitudes of young adults towards Syrian refugees in Turkey. My focus shifted to the experiences of adolescents after I moved to Germany. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. focusing on German children with an immigration background. I also teach about diversity and social inequalities with the focus of intersectional identities to pre-service teachers.
As a part of the LGBTQI + community, I hope to see more queer researchers thriving in departments such as psychology, and education. Besides working on exciting research ideas, I spend most of my time reading novels and picture books, traveling, and cooking.
