I am queer and I am a genetic counselor. //

I’m a queer genetic counselor currently focusing on adult genetics both in clinic and genomic research. My ability to be an openly queer Arab has been predominantly due to the support of my community. Increasing the visibility of queer people of color in STEM fields is so important! We need more people of underrepresented groups to add their viewpoints and creativity to the STEM field. Also a special shout out to all the queers who are not “out” because you don’t have to be out to be queer!
