He/Him
I am gay and I am a bat ecologist. //
I undertook both my BSc (Hons) degree in Wildlife Conservation and MSc in Environmental Consultancy at the University of Plymouth, graduating in 2010. In early 2011 I joined a private ecological consultancy company and am now one of their senior bat ecologists undertaking survey work across the UK, including advanced bat surveying techniques such as trapping. Earlier this year I was one of the employees involved in setting up our in-house LGBTQ+ staff network group, which we are currently developing. In my spare time I volunteer for the Derbyshire Bat Conservation Group and am currently leading a bat research project looking at the phenomenon known as “autumn swarming” where large numbers of bats congregate to mate.
