I am queer and I am an evolutionary biologist. //
I’m a queer evolutionary biologist at the University of Edinburgh. I use microbial evolution experiments to understand how photosynthetic microbes respond to different kinds of environmental change. More and more, I am focusing on understanding the role that evolution will play in primary production in changing oceans by trying to figure out various ways to predict trait evolution (and, inevitably, end up also finding many ways to not predict trait evolution).
