He/Him
I am gay and I am a developmental biologist turned science communicator. //
I’m an Irish scientist who did a PhD and some postdoctoral research in developmental biology (zebrafish and canines) before moving into science communication and audio production. I produce radio programmes, documentaries, and podcasts, and I develop events and exhibitions that connect science with society and culture. Connecting with the queer science community has changed my life, and I spend a lot of my time collaborating on projects to improve support, inclusion, and visibility of queer scientists. I set up a network for LGBTQ+ scientists in Ireland called House of STEM, and I’m one of the organisers of #LGBTSTEMday.
