I am bi and I am an avian ecologist. //
I am a graduate student studying ornithology in the Kansas State University Division of Biology. I have been fortunate to be openly bi/pan since high school and through my undergraduate studies at Denison University. I am motivated to study the evolution of bird behavior, especially parental care. My current research focuses on the effects of cowbird brood parasitism (birds that lay their eggs in other birds’ nests!) on grassland songbird host nestling growth and development. When I am not measuring baby birds, and I am very happily teaching and participating in science outreach in Kansas and beyond!
