He/Him

I’m gay and I’m a biomedical engineering master’s student. //

Expressing myself fully and openly as a queer individual has always been something I struggled with in the STEM field. During my undergraduate years, a lot of my classes were dominated by cis, heterosexual men and sexuality just wasn’t something that was discussed. Luckily, I’ve taken the time in my first year of graduate school at Duke to explore how I express my identity fully and comfortably and same with my summer internship with RTI, which even has a pride group! It’s been such a relief to find other queer individuals within STEM fields and learn from their experiences.
