I’m gay and I’m a natural products chemist and assistant professor. //
I am fascinated by the chemistry of biological organisms and the application of this chemistry in human diseases. My laboratory uses comprehensive organic structure analysis, especially NMR methods, to elucidate the chemical structure of biologically active compounds we isolate from nature. Before I joined the faculty of California State University, Dominguez Hills in July 2015, I did my post-doctoral work at University of California, Santa Cruz (Cruz Lab). Before that I was at The Ohio State University for graduate studies. Outside of lab-work I play saxophone and off-road bike around the Los Angeles area.
