Hello! I’m Michelle Jamieson, a working-class community psychologist and PhD candidate in Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow. My PhD is currently looking into deprivation, health barriers, and treatment choices on the (un)employment of those living with psychosis in Scotland. I also have interests in social and health inequalities, welfare systems, “invisible” conditions such as acquired brain injury (ABI) and chronic pain, and complex mental health conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I have personal experience of living with complex mental health difficulties (voice hearing), as well as caring for others, and this has driven my work for a long time. In my spare time, I like to think of myself as an amateur artist, true crime sleuth, and semi-outdoor person.
