I am a lesbian and I am an ecologist.//
I am a quantitative ecologist and PhD Candidate at the University of Adelaide, Australia. I study how animals move, and how these underlying movement processes affect inferences obtained from detection data. My current work involves simulating realistic animal movement, and using them to evaluate statistical models of population estimation.
I strongly believe that a diversity of ideas and perspectives is crucial to advancing science. I’m fortunate to be embraced for who I am in my research group, and that has allowed me to thrive in my work.
