I am trans and I am a plant ecology graduate student.//
I am trans and I am a Master’s student studying plant and soil ecology. My work focuses on invasive plants and their impacts on soil health. My program is heavily plant-focused, so working in both above and below-ground systems, I feel like I am often confused about my identity. It parallels my experiences with being a scientist and a trans person and not wanting to choose one or the other. It’s reassuring to hear that other queer people have similar experiences.
I am also a musician and enjoy hiking, gardening, and foraging for edible mushrooms.
