My thesis work is in neurobiology and neuropharmacology understanding the mechanisms of myelin loss in HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder patients. I’m especially interested in oligodendrocytes, their development and response to injury. I hope to have a successful career in the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative an/or neuroinflammatory diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis.
