She/Her
I am bi and I am an arachnologist, systematist, and evolutionary biologist.//
I am a first-generation student and grew up in rural Mississippi. I am currently an entomology PhD student at the University of California, Davis. My dissertation research focuses on classifying and describing the Earth’s increasingly threatened biodiversity, specifically cryptic species in trapdoor spider taxa, using genomic-scale data and various bioinformatic tools. My ultimate career goal is to become a biology professor where I can perform research and teach in a vibrant academic setting; additionally, I want to make a positive impact on students by being openly bisexual and extending opportunities to mentor students from historically excluded groups.
