He/Him
I am gay and I am a working as a Nat Cat modeler with Re/Insurance company.//
I completed my Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science in Earthquake Engineering. My research focus is mainly on proposing a new design spectrum for the high seismicity region (i.e. The Himalayan) and low seismicity region of the Indian subcontinent.
As a part of my work, I work on developing the Earthquake model for different parts of the globe and worked along in developing different components of other Nat Cat Models. I am out at my workplace and also working towards creating a workplace more inclusive and diverse environment for other LGBTAI+ colleagues.
Coming out to myself and to my parents wasn’t easy for me. Growing up in a conservative society, I lived with two separate identities. Ph.D. made me grow not only professionally but also personally. Currently, I am living with my partner, and it’s been more than four and a half years.
Outside of my work, I do trekking with my partner, write poems, and make memes.
