He/Him

I am gay and and I am a postdoctoral research associate.//

I am a fish physiologist that is interested in the impacts of anthropogenic change, including temperature, salinity, oxygen saturation, and pH. Specifically, I am captivated in attempting to understand why some species are “winners” and “losers” in response to global climate change through the defining of physiological mechanisms. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and my Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. I previously worked in non-profit education, and continue to enjoy reading about teaching pedagogy and outreach. I feel fortunate to have LGBTQAI+ mentors in academia, which is why I believe that it is critical to be an “out” scientist and help create an inclusive community.
