I am bi and I am an undergraduate biology student.//
Hi, I’m Joel Rojas from the Dominican Republic. I’m currently an undergraduate biology student at UASD interested in genetics and molecular bio. My current work is focused on the hybridization of Trachemys, a freshwater turtle genus. In 2019, I came out as bi to my whole family and college peers, which came with mixed opinions from the most conservative groups. My whole life I’ve been in the church, which didn’t allow me to show my true colors, but here I am now. I want to show all my peers that being part of the LGBT community and a scientist is possible & there’s nothing to be ashamed of!
