I am gay and I am a vector behaviour biologist and PhD student. //
Originally from Scotland, I completed my undergraduate degree in zoology and an MRes in ecology at the University of Glasgow. Then I decided on a fresh start and pursued a PhD in Liverpool where I could live with my partner, a fellow biologist! I’m now studying toward a PhD at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. My PhD is on mosquito behaviour and I’m focusing on discovering novel and appropriate tests for the evaluation of behavioural, delayed, and sub-lethal effects of insecticides on mosquitoes, with the aim of developing a new insecticide testing pipeline. When I’m not in the lab or writing up, I’m often found playing video games, reading comics, or watching football!
