I am gay and I am a plant geneticist. //

I started my scientist journey by studying molecular biology and plant physiology before falling in love with plant diversity and adaptation to abiotic stresses. I work for the USDA in Geneva, NY, and am also adjunct at Cornell University. I research temperature adaptation in wild grapevine to help farmers stay sustainable in the face of shifting climate. Out and proud. My door is always open to be a safe haven for any student, queer or not.
